With a Bachelor of Arts in Education and K-12 Teaching Certification in Nebraska and Colorado, Becky has taught, coached, worked in the airline industry, organized labor, and actively worked for political candidates and legislation at the state and federal levels. Switching gears mid-life, she has been married to a fourth-generation stockman for 20 years. During that time, she helps her husband Scott run the homesteaded ranch, (a commercial cow/calf operation), in the Nebraska Sandhills. The couple runs Black Angus cows with excellent herd genetics. The Potmesil family has had a continuous AI program since 1959. Becky is a member of the Nebraska Farmer’s Union, Organization for Competitive Markets, Nebraska Cattleman's, American National Cattlewomen and was appointed and reappointed to the Nebraska Farm Services Agency
