Bilynn Johnson is a cow-calf operator from Happy, TX and was appointed to the Beef Board in 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business from Colorado State University and a master’s in Food Science (Meat Science) from Oklahoma State University. While at Oklahoma State University she coached the 1997 Meats Judging team. Bilynn worked for the Red Angus Association of America as a Marketing Specialist, then as a Food Scientist and Regulatory Superintendent for Cargill in the beef group. Additionally, she worked for IMI Global as a marketing program writer and auditor. Bilynn works with Texas Farm Bureau in the school visit program, teaching 2nd thru 5th graders about agriculture, where their food comes from, and tying it to what they are learning in reading, science, and social studies. Bilynn, and her husband Jay Wade Johnson, have two children; CW age 12 and Lynnlea age 9. Together they raise commercial Red Angus cattle and feed out the majority of their cattle.
