Connie and her husband Tony run the Walking Y Ranch, a commercial cow/calf operation near Trinidad in southeastern Colorado. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, a Masters of Teaching, and is a retired high school math teacher of 34 years—so, the prospect of educating fellow producers about the Beef Checkoff is especially compelling to her. She sat on the first Independent Legislative Redistricting Commission for the State of Colorado, was part of the Colorado Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, and is a current board member for the Colorado Farm Bureau Federation and a member of the Arkansas Valley Cattlewomen.
