Raised in upstate New York as the child of two veterinarians, Evan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University. After graduation, he made the leap and became a first-generation farmer at Lesser Farms, a cow/calf, row-crop, seed wheat, and small trucking operation in Palco, Kansas. He has become a true believer in the Beef Checkoff’s mission and urges fellow cattle producers to get involved and help guide, promote, and protect the beef industry. Evan’s own industry involvement includes the Kansas Livestock Association, Kansas Farm Bureau, and Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission.
