Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Janet graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Business. Together with her husband Ted and two sons, Gent and Carl, the Parkers run Parker Livestock, a large stocker and backgrounder operation in southern Mississippi that manages seven farms and a buying station. Janet’s industry involvement has included service as First Vice President of Mississippi Cattleman's Association, Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation Political Action Committee, board member of Covington County Farm Bureau and the Mississippi Beef Checkoff, as well as membership in Farm Families of Mississippi and Covington County Cattleman's Association.
