A graduate of South Dakota State University, Larry is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army who worked as a conservation officer for SD Game, Fish, and Parks before settling down as a third-generation cattle rancher on his family’s cow/calf and seedstock operation in the mid-‘90s. He has actively participated in NCBA, Meade County and SD Farm Bureau, USMEF, and SD Grasslands Coalition, and served as President of the SD and Black Hills Cattlemen’s Associations and SD Agricultural Land Trust.
