Kansas State University (KSU) strives to support, encourage and grow the research efforts of faculty, staff and students. The university is well respected for its research efforts in the agriculture sector.
Dr. Glynn Tonsor, professor of agricultural economics at KSU, is working in coalition with the United States Cattlemen’s Association (USCA), a contractor to the Beef Checkoff, to execute the Meat Demand Monitor (MDM). Launched in February 2020, the MDM tracks U.S. consumer’s meat preferences, perceptions and demand, analyzing foodservice and retail channels separately. MDM surveys more than 2,000 individuals nationwide each quarter.
